AQA’s A-Level in Geography will excite the mind, challenge perceptions and stimulate investigative and analytical skills. It aims to encourage learners to develop a range of essential skills for Higher Education and the world of work through content which is relevant to any citizen of the planet in the 21st century. Through exciting topics learners will continue to explore the nature of physical and human geography with an equal amount of content in each as well as a field work investigation contributing 20%.
Field work is central to the course and students will have the opportunity to attend a week-long trip to Dorset to put all the theory into practice. This is a highlight of the course where pupils can experience geography very different to their home area, visit World Heritage sites and actually stay in a lighthouse on the Isle of Portland.
