Kesgrave High School is looking for a Teacher of Design & Technology for January 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large successful and committed team of subject specialists. Kesgrave High School is a large 11-19 school which has over 1850 students on roll, including over 300 students in the Sixth Form, where Technology is a popular subject. The department offers options in Engineering, Design & Technology, Textiles, Food, Product Design and Graphics.

NON TEACHING VACANCY

SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Grade 3, point 4-10 – £18,933-£21,748 pro rata (permanent)

(gross annual salary £11,944-£13,720)

This position requires the provision of practical support to the Science Faculty as a full member of the existing technician team. You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills; those with experience of working in a scientific environment will have an advantage. You will be required to act as First Aider within this area of the school.

The post is for 27.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year.

NON TEACHING VACANCY

COVER SUPERVISOR

Grade 4, point 9-12 – £20,903-£23,080 pro rata (permanent)

(gross annual salary £16,783-£18,531)

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor as soon as available to manage the work of groups of students in the absence of their regular teacher. Cover supervision occurs when there is no active teaching taking place. Students will continue their learning by carrying out pre-prepared exercises under supervision. You would be expected to organise the students, equipment and the classroom, manage the behaviour of the students and ensure that they complete the work set. A full induction and training programme would be made available to you, including opportunities to observe teachers at work.

The post is for 35 hours per week over 5 days, 39 weeks per year.

TEACHING ASSISTANT (temporary)

Grade 3, point 4-6 – £18933-£19698 pro rata

(gross annual salary £12696-£13209)

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant. This role provides support to students who may have learning, behavioural, physical or emotional difficulties, mainly based within the classroom. There may also be some small group intervention support. You will be expected to work as part of a team and contribute to the positive impact of the Learning Support Department. This is a temporary appointment to 31 August 2022 in the first instance.

The post is for 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

GRADUATE INTERN (temporary)

U25 NMW £15,820-£16,823 pro rata

(gross annual salary £10,887-£11,578)

We are seeking to appoint a Graduate Intern to work as part of our Learning Support team supporting the learning of students in a classroom setting. There will be opportunities for working in activities beyond the curriculum that broaden skills and enrich experience which would support progression into career routes working with young people. You will need a good degree level qualification, a commitment to working with young people and an ability to use your own initiative. This is a temporary appointment to 31 August 2022.

The post is for 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 week).
