SIXTH FORM STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICER

(Temporary Contract)

Scale 5, point 16-20, £26,446-£30,095 pro rata

(gross annual salary £11,511-£13,100)

We are seeking to appoint from September 2022 a suitably qualified person to work alongside our Learning Co-ordinators. This will involve working with a range of pupils who need extra support in supporting their development, raising their self-esteem and becoming more focused on their future prospects. We need someone who is willing to be both part of a team and be able to work independently, show initiative and someone who can build up a rapport with students, their parent/carers and, of course, the staff in the school. This role will attract someone who aspires to making a real difference to the lives of young people.

The post is for 18.5 hours (2 days) per week, 40 weeks (39 weeks during term time). The post is for a fixed-term of one year. Please note the role will include an expectation of attendance at some evening events throughout the academic year as stated in the job description.

SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Grade 3, point 4-10 – £19,264-£22,129 pro rata (permanent)

(gross annual salary £10,606-£12,184)

Kesgrave High School is seeking to appoint a Science Technician from September 2022. This position requires the provision of practical support to the Science Faculty as a full member of the existing technician team. You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills; those with experience of working in a scientific environment will have an advantage. Expertise in Physics or Biology would be an advantage. You will be required to act as First Aider within this area of the school.

The post is for 24 hours, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year.

CARETAKER

Grade 4, point 13-17 – £23,953-£27,514

Kesgrave High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive caretaker to join the site management team from September 2022.

Duties will be required Monday to Friday, working a rotational and split shift per week, covering an early, middle and late shift. Weekend overtime and callout duty is also shared over a 3 week rotational rota.

The school offers flexible leave arrangements.

The post is for 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Applicants with proven experience in a similar post or the building trade would be preferred.

TEACHING ASSISTANT (Temporary)

Grade 3, point 4-6 – £19,264-£20,043 pro rata

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant. This role provides support to students who may have learning, behavioural, physical or emotional difficulties, mainly based within the classroom. There may also be some small group intervention support. You will be expected to work as part of a team and contribute to the positive impact of the Learning Support Department. This is a temporary appointment to 31 August 2023 in the first instance.

The post is for 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

GRADUATE INTERNSHIP

30 hours per week, 39 weeks (term time plus 1 week), from September 2022, fixed term for one year. Salary between £17,710 – £18,333 pro rata actual salary £12,189 – £12,617).

Placements are available at Debenham High School, Kesgrave High School and Farlingaye High School for graduates who are looking for experience in education in order to make a successful application for further training, eg teachers or educational psychologists.

The post is a fixed contract ending 31 August 2023.
