Full or Part-time Teacher of Business Studies (MPS)

Kesgrave High School is looking for a Teacher of Business Studies full-time/part-time permanent from September 2023. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and committed team of subject specialists. Kesgrave High School is a large 11-19 school which has over 1850 students on roll, including over 320 students in the Sixth Form where Business, Economics and Accounting are popular subjects.

The Business & Economics Department at Kesgrave High School has a vacancy for an enthusiastic teacher of Business Studies from September 2023. All members of the team contribute to the teaching of the OCR GCSE and Edexcel A Level Business courses, while the department also offers OCR GCSE and Edexel Economics A Level and AQA Accounting.

The successful candidate should be able to teach Business Studies across Years 10-13 with an option to support the other subjects offered in the department, and should also be prepared to support and develop the awareness of the subjects and the extra-curricular activities for the department. Full-time applicants who can also offer a second subject, for example Geography or Law, are encouraged to apply alongside any part-time applicants who can teach Business and/or Economics/Accounting.

NON TEACHING VACANCIES

COVER SUPERVISOR

Grade 4, point 9-12 – £23,194-£25,409 pro rata (permanent)

(gross annual salary £18,623-£20,402)

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor as soon as possible to manage the work of groups of students in the absence of their regular teacher. There is potentially also the opportunity for a permanent appointment to extend our cover supervision provision on a more permanent basis.

Cover supervision occurs when there is no active teaching taking place. Students will continue their learning by carrying out pre-prepared exercises under supervision. You would be expected to organise the students, equipment and the classroom, manage the behaviour of the students and ensure that they complete the work set. A full induction and training programme would be made available to you, including opportunities to observe teachers at work.

The post is for 35 hours per week over 5 days, 39 weeks per year. Part time or full time applicants will be considered.

TEACHING ASSISTANT (temporary) (MPS)

Grade 3, point 4-6 – £21,189-£21,968 pro rata

(gross annual salary £14,209-£14,731.48)

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant. This role provides support to students who may have learning, behavioural, physical or emotional difficulties, mainly based within the classroom. There may also be some small group intervention support. You will be expected to work as part of a team and contribute to the positive impact of the Learning Support Department.

The post is for 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
