Stay safe, stay well and keep in touch

Let’s hope that as I type my weekly message this Monday, we aren’t doing something completely different by Tuesday! First and foremost, I hope that you and your families remain well at this time. The rising rate of COVID infections nationally and locally, is concerning for everyone. We will all know someone who is vulnerable and at risk, so I share will you our thoughts at this time.

Thank you to all our staff, students, parents and carers, for adapting to the ever-changing circumstances last week. Our remote learning provision has developed rapidly feedback from home is that the three-period day and hence live contact with their teachers is working well. We have been so proud of how students have adapted immediately to the new expectations and have been working hard at home and in school. All students should follow their timetable to the following schedule:

  • Lesson 1: 9.30-11.00
  • Lesson 2: 11.30-1.00
  • Lesson 3: 1.40-3.10

Parents of students who are categorised as vulnerable or are known to us as critical workers are now receiving a weekly email on Wednesday, in order to help us to plan provision in the week ahead. If you have not received this email and believe that you are eligible for in-school provision please email keyworker@kesgrave.suffolk.sch.uk

This week we will communicate with all parents and carers to share our new well-being model. We have been working with Dr Hazel Harrison, Clinical Psychologist, to shape this and want to make sure that we encourage all students to consider proactive steps to help their well-being during these difficult times.

Well done to all our students who took external examinations last week. They showed their positivity and desire to prove their hard work in attending revision sessions in their full. Good luck to all those in Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 who have examinations this week.

If you have any concerns at this time, remember that we are still here and available to support you. School might be operating remotely and doesn’t quite feel like ‘business as usual’ but we are still working fully, all staff are working full-time albeit it in a different form. Just get in touch if you need us in any way.
