As the temperature rises, we enter our final full week of term. Learning in the classroom continues this week, drawing together what students have learnt across the year, reflecting upon progress and then looking ahead at what comes next. All subjects will be using time this week to take meaningful steps into next year.

This weekend we wished farewell to our students and staff heading out to Shamwari. This expedition has run for a number of years, with students experiencing life on a safari range, volunteering in the local community and understanding what life is like in a community with very different experiences to our own. We know what a life-changing effect these trips can have.

On Tuesday this week we will welcome our new Year 7 cohort, as the Year 6 students join us for their formal transition day. Students will meet other members of their form, spend time with their tutor getting to know each other and the school and then experience lessons as normal around the school site. Our Year 9 Peer Mentors are looking forward to supporting the day, building on their leadership experience as they take on important roles of responsibility.

Next week of course we end the school year with Activities Week. Thank you for your forbearance as we organised this return to the school calendar, no mean feat in the aftermath of the pandemic and amidst increased economic challenges. I know that staff and students alike are looking forward to ending the year on a high, with some deserved fun after working hard throughout the year.
