Parents’ Evening and Mock Examinations

November 22, 2020 9:30 am

This week we venture into our first Virtual Parents’ Evening with Year 13 parents and carers on Tuesday evening. We hope that the system will be straightforward to navigate and will give us all-important face-to-face contact with Year 13 students and their parents or carers. While we hope that in the fullness of time our usual in-school evenings will be able to recommence, while necessary we will be using this mechanism for all future parents’ evenings.

Last week Year 11 started their Mock Examinations. They approached these with composure and determination, we were so impressed. We know that the stakes upon these have been raised, with the continued uncertainty over the summer examinations, but students have worked hard in preparation and know that these Mock Examinations provide them with a learning opportunity, gathering important feedback from their teachers, before the next step. We wish them luck in the examinations ahead this week:

Congratulations to the Year 10 students, who on Friday as part of Youth Takeover Day, secured £1000 for a community project in our local area. Students pitched their bid to councillors in a professional, competitive environment, representing the school honourably. We look forward to their leadership of the project in the next phase, for now, a huge well done to all involved.
