Half-term approaches

February 8, 2021 7:13 am

Monday 8 February

Kesgrave High School will remain OPEN to vulnerable and critical worker students today.

Lessons will continue remotely for all students. Hence, if parents of those who have been attending on site feel concerned about travel, they should access learning from home.

Students attending school are advised to wear suitable footwear for their walk to school and hence do not need to wear school shoes.

Well, I hope that all those who enjoy the snow, were able to enjoy the outdoors on Sunday. The lockdown lack of travel may have finally been a blessing!

It was super to speak to Year 12 parents and carers last week. Our students have had so much to contend with over the last twelve months, it is just super to be able to report on their enthusiasm for their students, progress and development.

On Friday this week, we will be interviewing prospective internal candidates for our Sixth Form next academic year. These interviews will take place using our virtual parents’ evening platform and students will be notified of the timing of their interview with a senior member of staff. External applicants will be notified of their interview shortly after half-term. We have been delighted with the number of applicants this year, internally and from elsewhere, reflecting the range and depth of courses on offer at Kesgrave Sixth Form.

We continue to share our wellbeing strands, this week Mrs Newman will talk about Be Positive. You can see all our strands on wellbeing on our new page on our website. https://www.kesgrave.suffolk.sch.uk/well-being/ As the strands suggest, there is a great deal we can do to help our mental health and wellbeing. However, this site includes signposting if you need further support.

On Friday, we have a scheduled training day. Hence, term ends on Thursday 11 February. We will not be setting work for Friday, nor indeed for the half-term break. We hope all can have a well-deserved break and especially from screen-time.
