Final week of term
December 11, 2022 12:19 pmWe have reached the last week of term, after an eventful and busy Autumn Term.
Friday night last week was one of the many highlights of the year, seeing students perform with such enthusiasm and skill in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. With so many students auditioning, the team decision to run two parallel casts meant that even more students had the opportunity to perform. Audiences throughout the week (including a special matinee performance for Year 4 students from our feeder primary schools) were delighted with the creativity and energy from all involved. Thank you and well done to all students and staff for creating such magical performances across the week.
This week we will remain focused until the end of the week, ensuring that students continue to make the most of every learning opportunity. That said we are looking forward to some festive activities in the week ahead. Wednesday will be Christmas lunch. Students have to have pre-booked this meal in order to accommodate numbers. On Friday students have signed up for our Santa Run in their hundreds. With a chill in the air we will all need to stay wrapped up!
Thank you to all members of our community for your donations to families in need. The response to the LOVE IPSWICH campaign has been overwhelming. Staff and students were organising boxes last week and they will be collected this week to take to the community depot prior to distribution. We have also been collecting donations for families in need in our school community. Along with potential gifts for our young people and food for the festive period, we have also had a number of gifts of money, which we will convert into superstore vouchers, so that families can make selections for their Christmas fare. We are constantly overwhelmed by your generosity and compassion.
To one and all, have a peaceful and merry Christmas.
