Events ahead

It was lovely to connect to our Sixth Form parents and carers last week for our Parents’ Evening. Both year groups are at formative stages of their education, Year 12 students have been impressing us with their commitment from day one of their studies and this early connect to parents and carers allows us to reflect on how they have settled into Level 3 study, managing both the transition of challenge and workload. Year 13 on the other hand are entering the final chapters of their education at Kesgrave High School and are starting to plan for what comes next. With a bumper number of students completing their university application early, we know that they are thinking carefully about what lies ahead.

In the weeks ahead we have a range of trips and visits planned. From the Year 7 pantomine trip to Year 12 Mathematics, to Year 9 Geography fieldwork (I hope the weather improves) and BT Hothouse event, there is plenty going on. That’s without the imminent school play (don’t forget to get your tickets, they are going fast).

Meanwhile Year 8 and 9 will receive their first academic report for the year and Year 11 enter the second week of their mock examinations.

This week ground work starts for the exciting new all-weather sports area on the Year 7 and 8 field. This is an exciting new space, for use in lesson time and social time. Whilst not perhaps the easiest time of year to start such a project, it does mean that we hope to have the area in use by February half-term at the latest (if all goes to plan).

As you can tell, we are busy as usual.
