Acclaim, prefects, peer mentors and non-uniform day
March 21, 2021 2:36 pmIt hardly seems possible that this week is the end of the Spring Term. Thank you to all our community for their contribution to the safe return of students to our school; everyone plays a part.
This week, we will be raising money as we hold our non-uniform day on Thursday 25 March. School Council chose the charities that we support across the year and they will be sharing an assembly with all students to highlight the worthy cause that we will all be contributing to this week. Students select charities with a local or national focus, which have a personal meaning to our community, thus supporting some of the lesser-known needs around our community.
This week will also see the launch of the process for the selection of Prefects in Year 10 and Peer Mentors. This year we will be using students from Year 9 as Peer Mentors, distributing leadership responsibilities across the school. We have so many students in all year groups who are willing and able to take the lead, we are delighted to be able to spread these roles among different year groups.
At the end of the week, we will share with students and parents, our termly newsletter, Acclaim. While gathering examples that demonstrate our pride in our students wasn’t quite as straightforward with so many weeks away from school, we still managed to fill a full edition. Watch out on Twitter for its release.
Finally, as you head into the Easter break, we wish all those connected with the school a restful and enjoyable holiday. I hope that with the easing of some restrictions you are able to spend some time with family and friends.
