Innovative
Assessment
and monitoring
Our sophisticated ‘flight-path' assessment system allows staff to analyse each individual's personal progress in relation to aspirational targets, making full use of FFT data to generate clear and easily interpreted regression lines.

Learners and parents are involved in a dialogue about progress from Year 7 through to Year 13.
Organization
of the school
day
Our longer sessions are ‘learning events' that encourage variety, pace of learning and independence. Collaborative and active learning is the norm and students are regularly engaged and challenged through participative groupwork.

In this way we build confident learners with a high level of self esteem.
Inclusion
and support

Our strong mixed ability ethos has proved highly successful across the range of subjects and Key Stages. This underpins our approach to teaching and learning, ensuring that all students aspire to reach their own potential and are supportive of one another's learning. Understanding and valuing peoples' diversity and equality is integral to this approach.
Curriculum

“The curriculum is outstanding and meets the needs of all students. Students speak highly of the three period day and say that they are able to develop their work in greater depth because of it.
The extension of students' literacy and numeracy skills is at the heart of curriculum planning and has been very effective to improve standards throughout the school..."
