12 enthusiastic “Discoverers” made a very impressive start to the year, representing the school (many for the first time) in an area Athletics event held at Northgate’s stadium. A range of pupils from years 8 to 11, boys and girls, all participated together to compete against other schools in a range of Athletic events, based around the traditional, running, jumping and throwing.

With London 2012 on the horizon, the Olympic and Paralympic values of; Friendship, Excellence, Respect, Courage, Inspiration, Equality and Determination, were at the heart of what all pupils got out of the day.

All pupils challenged themselves throughout the day and were rewarded with some amazing individual performances. The final event of the day had to be the highlight, where all pupils organised and encouraged each other superbly to take gold in the relay. A hugely positive day for all involved.
