Our Eco-Code

The Eco-School group have taken the next step in making KHS one of the greenest schools in the county by achieving the Silver award.

The major project has been the installation of the solar panels and the students have been watching the meter ticking away as we save energy on a daily basis.

Desiging an eco-code was the next step towards silver. After much deliberation Saskia Johnson and James Baker's ideas were combined to create an eco-code that will become an integral part of the school ethos. We can now start work on our next projects and we hope to achieve Green Status before the summer.

Plans for a butterfly conservation area are under way and research into butterfly conservation will be undertaken with a trip to the Natural History Museum butterfly exhibition.

The group have also been invited to attend the Eco-School conference at Aintree, Liverpool where the students will get to meet other Eco-School students and to develop their ideas of how to continue making KHS the Greenest school in the county!
