What is Eco-Schools all about?
We are proud to be a part of the Eco-Schools project, a programme designed to help reduce the environmental impact of the school on the community whilst encouraging our students to take responsibility for the future of their own environment. We are committed to the involvement of our students throughout the entire programme including the planning, monitoring, and decision-making. The Eco-Schools project offers three award levels (Bronze, Silver and Green Flag). Through the ongoing hard work of our students and staff, KHS has achieved the Green Flag Status!

After a gruelling assessment KHS is proud to announce that we have officially been given the full Eco-Schools Green Flag award. We are the first secondary school in the whole of East Anglia to achieve this status which is a remarkable achievement. This award is recognition of how far we have come as a school community in developing the sustainability agenda.

The Eco-School group have taken the next step in making KHS one of the greenest schools in the county by achieving the Silver award. The major project has been the installation of the solar panels and the students have been watching the meter ticking away as we save energy on a daily basis.

Kesgrave High School has now become one of the greenest schools in the country since solar panels were installed with funding from The Co-operative.
The panels, worth more than £20,000 to each school, were half funded through The Co-operative's scheme with match funding from the Government's Low Carbon Building Programme.
