Young Carers Award
On Thursday 25th January Kesgrave High School where presented with the Suffolk Young Carers Gold Schools Award by local councillor Stuart Lawson. Over the past few year we have gained the Bronze and Silver and we are well on our way to achieving the Platinum. The award is a recognition of good practice and highlights the vital support the school offers to Young carers in the school community.
WHO ARE YOUNG CARERS?
Someone who is 5 – 24 years old and cares for, or is affected by, a family member who has a physical or mental illness or misuses drugs or alcohol, they are a young carer. If you are a Young Carer or you know someone who is and would benefit from some support please pop and see Mrs Dring in the Head Of Year Office who can discuss this further and complete a referral form.
